LONG BEACH — Washington attorney general candidate Reagan Dunn wrapped up a statewide tour in Pacific and Wahkiakum counties last Wednesday.
The King County councilmember and former federal prosecutor is seeking the Republican nomination to replace current state AG Rob McKenna, who is running for governor.
While in Long Beach, Dunn met with Chinook Observer editor Matt Winters and dined with Brett and Nan Malin in Seaview. Brett Malin is county GOP chairman. Dunn, the son of popular retired U.S. Rep. Jennifer Dunn, learned about local Southwest Washington issues.
“Washington is a big state with many diverse regions and interests,” said Dunn. “My goal was to visit every county to learn about their unique issues. Everywhere I went there were some common themes. People are worried about their future and they think our leaders in Olympia can do better.”
Dunn said he wants to work closely with local law enforcement to make sure they have the resources they need. He also pledges to work for consumer protection, government transparency and preserving the environment.
This month Dunn announced the endorsement of 25 sheriffs and prosecutors from 18 different counties. In addition, a Moore Information poll was released in November showing the race a “dead heat.” His likely general election opponent is Democrat Bob Ferguson, another King County councilman.
